For a while now I've been delighted to have this beautiful piece of art in my home.
I purchased this print to celebrate completing my Colour Design Diploma late last year and it is very special to me for a range of reasons.
I was very fortunate to meet and get to know Kristy, the incredibly talented designer of the print as part of my Certificate IV in Design class at ISCD.
Already a gifted, professional artist and successful entrepreneur, seeing Kristy's existing portfolio as well as her classwork was inspirational and I remember the presentation of her original work on this piece. As an animal and nature lover I loved it then and was excited to later have the opportunity to buy it as a professional print :)
Our class was full of diversely talented, amazing women all passionate about design. We were all seeking to expand our skills and tap into new ways to explore and express our creativity. Every week I was impressed personally and artistically by my classmates and I look forward to opportunities to reconnect with them in the future and follow their creative journeys.
I've increasing found in talking to people that most of us appear to be seeking new ways to expand our skills, tap into and express our creative potential and positively impact the world around us.
I've also found this journey can be both incredibly exciting and very daunting at the same time.
I've been enjoying the new projects and opportunities that are coming my way, whilst learning to take more chances, trust my judgement and be more supportive of my own progress as I take on new challenges.
This quote by Joseph Pearce was recently shared in an ISCD newsletter and it resonates with me:
"To live a creative life,
we must lose our fear
of being wrong."
